To inform means to provide an impartial equal view of a topic. In this assignment, you will choose a topic unrelated to any other speech you have done so far this year and explain the history and current details of it as it pertains to us. You want to choose a topic that would interest not only yourself but your classmates.

To present this informative speech to us, you will use PowerPoint or Keynote. To help you gather information, use the attached worksheet to map out your slides.

Presentation specifications:
  • 12-18 slides (not including your title or works cited slides)
  • Use the presentation program as an outline tool. Do not write word for word what will be said. What appears on the slide is an outline. You should verbally explain detailed information that thoroughly describes your bullet points.
    • Use a 3x3 or 5x5 format (three/five bullet points, three/five words per bullet). Keep it uniform throughout the slide show.
    • At least two slides must be pictures or graphics only.
    • Add graphics and pictures to worded slides
    • Include tags or topics at the top of every slide (except the pictures only slides)
    • You also need to add a title slide and a works cited slide at the end.
  • Focus your body/posture/face towards the audience as you present the information.
  • Use your notes to help you explain, but don't read to us. Have a conversation with us about the details.
  • There is no time limit or time minimum. You need to hit the correct number of slides.
